RECENT ACTUAL DUI CASES AND RESULTS 

 

Driver is leaving a bar.  A person calls the police on her.  The police watch driver walk to driver's car and decides, based on his observations, that driver is drunk.  Police activates bluelights and stops the car.  Driver is told to park the car.  Driver presses the gas to park the car, but driver's car is still in reverse causing the driver to HIT THE POLICE CAR.  10-15 officers respond and witness how the driver appears.  Driver takes and fails field sobriety tests.  Driver takes the breath test and blows a .119, well over the legal limit.

DUI COURT RESULT---DUI NOT GUILTY (reduced to Reckless Driving)

 

Driver drives on wrong side of road on Bull St. from Victory Drive to DeRenne Ave.  This is witnessed by an undercover officer.  Driver is stopped by a marked unit.  Driver is arrested and blows a .159 and a .162 on the breath test machine. (Twice the legal limit of .08)

DUI TRIAL RESULT---DUI NOT GUILTY 

 

Driver, who is under the age of 21 is stopped for weaving.  Since the Driver was not 21 years old, the State Legal Limit is only .02.  Driver blows a .024 and a .023 on the breath test machine.

DUI COURT RESULT---DUI NOT GUILTY (reduced toReckless Driving)

 

Driver, who was returning from drinking all night long in downtown Savannah, almost strikes a police car.  Officer follows him and pulls him over.   Driver had a previous DUI conviction within the last 3 years (before Michael R. Tabarrok became his attorney).  Driver refuses to perform field sobriety tests and refuses the breath test.  The arrest is videotaped and there are 2 officers as witnesses. 

COURT RESULT ON THIS SECOND DUI WITHIN 5 YEARS---DUI NOT GUILTY (reduced to Nolo Contendre plea to Reckless Driving) AND avoids going into DUI Court Program AND keeps his license

 

Driver, who had been drinking while boating all day, pulls out right in front of a police car.  The officer pulls him over.  The driver fails all of the field sobriety tests (which are witnessed by a second officer) and blows a .117 and a .112 on the Intox machine.  This is his second DUI within 5 years (the first conviction happened before Michael R. Tabarrok became his attorney).

COURT RESULT ON THIS SECOND DUI WITHIN 5 YEARS---DUI NOT GUILTY ADJUDICATION  AND avoids going into DUI Court Program AND keeps his license
 

Driver, who had been drinking and partying all day, goes 81 in a 45 mph speed zone right in front of a police car.  The officer pulls him over.  The driver fails all of the field sobriety tests (which are witnessed by a second officer) and blows a .154 and a .155 on the Intox machine.  This is his second DUI, but the 1st in 5 years (the first conviction happened before Michael R. Tabarrok became his attorney).

COURT RESULT ON THIS SECOND DUI WITHIN 5 YEARS---DUI NOT GUILTY ADJUDICATION  AND keeps his license
